Pulmonary & Internal Medicine Associates of Greater Hartford, PC offers comprehensive medical care in the fields of General Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Hospitalist medicine. We specialize in both in-patient and out-patient medical care. Our physicians are all Board Certified in their fields and actively participate in ongoing medical education activities. In addition to the traditional specialties, the practice offers additional expertise in the fields of Occupational Medicine, Aviation Medicine and Travel Medicine. The practice also offers Legal and Consultation Services to the legal and industrial communities for Expert Opinions and Independent Medical Evaluations (IME exams). The practice is primarily a clinical based practice and does very little in the way of medical research. This allows our focus to be primarily on patient care, both in the in-patient and out-patient clinical settings.
Our physicians and staff have considerable expertise in the rapidly expanding field of Hospital - based medical practice and have become specialists in the new Hospitalist program at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. An explosion of medical technology has become available to the hospital based specialists and all of our practitioners are experts in the efficient and comprehensive management of the hospitalized patients. Pulmonary and Internal Medicine Associates are the designated private practice Hospitalist group that supports the private practice Saint Francis Medical Community. Our practitioners work closely with the community physicians to offer high quality care as well as outstanding communication with the referring physician to give the best care possible to their patients and maintain the continuity of care that is necessary to maintain a world - class service to the greater Hartford community.
In addition, as we enter the new electronic era of medical records, the issues of privacy and confidentiality becomes increasingly important. Our office makes every effort to protect the confidentiality of our patients' medical records by following the strict HIPAA guidelines established by the Federal Government for record confidentiality. Our practice continues to be modified as technological advances and the electronic medical record becomes a part of medical record keeping. Strict confidentiality of medical information is kept both for the standard medical chart and it is also true for any information that is ever transmitted electronically.
We are always readily available for consultation on these and other issues. The physicians and staff work together as a team to coordinate all aspects of patient care and are available on a 24-hour a day, 7 day a week basis.
