Pulmonary Function Lab
The understanding of lung disease requires careful analysis of how well the lungs are functioning. At the Pulmonary Function Laboratory of Connecticut, we offer complete pulmonary function testing to our patients and those referred by other physicians to this office. Staffed by a highly experienced pulmonary laboratory technician and using the latest, state-of-the-art, computerized laboratory equipment, our laboratory will give reliable and accurate results that can be used to help diagnose and treat all types of lung diseases. We offer complete pulmonary function analysis which includes:
- Spirometry pre and post bronchodilator
- Maximal Voluntary Ventilation
- Lung Volumes
- Diffusion Capacity
- Helium Equilibration Time
- Arterial Blood Gas Analysis and Oxygen Saturations
When combined with a physician's examination and appropriate x-ray testing, this data gives your doctor very precise information regarding the detailed analysis of the your lung function. The testing is done right on the premises at PULIMA and test results are interpreted by a Board-Certified Pulmonary Physician. Results will routinely be forwarded to your physician or consultation can be arranged through this office. We also offer spirometry screening to the industrial community when testing for occupational exposures, asbestos screening or respirator mask fit testing is required on the job.
